Annaliese McSweeney
Youth Theatre Teacher
Annaliese McSweeney is a freelance dramaturg who has been working with the Dunes for the last three years. She has had the pleasure of working with the Dunes Summer Theatre and Michigan City’s Safe Harbor program to build a theatre aspect to their school camp. She has also been the theatre instructor for the Saint Mary’s Fine Arts Camp for the last seven years. In professional new play development, she has been the moderator for Voices from the Heartland, the new play festival at the Dunes, and was previously the Literary Manager of Stage Left Theatre in Chicago, managing their residency program and new plays festival.
As a dramaturg she has worked with The Dunes, Irish Theatre of Chicago, Lifeline Theatre, Lookingglass Theatre, Silk Road Rising, American Theater Company, and Route 66 Theatre.
Annaliese has a BA in both Theatre and Psychology from Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame as well as an M.Phil in Theatre and Performance from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland.
She lives with her ever-supportive husband, Brían, and their two boys.
