Michael Fallon

Education Coordinator

Michael Fallon is a Music and Arts Educator with over 30 years of teaching, conducting, directing, and performance experience. He was the Director of Choral Activities, Musical Theatre Director, and Technical Theatre Supervisor at Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights, Illinois, for 27 years until his retirement in 2019. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Music Education from James Madison University and his Masters's Degree in Choral Conducting and Music Education from Western Michigan University. He also earned a Teacher of Theater Certification from Boston University's Summer Theater Institute.

Having grown up in a service family, Michael moved a lot up and down the Eastern Seaboard and continued that trend briefly after undergraduate school performing and teaching in Virginia, New Hampshire, Miami, and Boston. While teaching at Shepard, his ensembles won numerous awards with a variety of groups, from traditional concert choirs to grand champion show choirs, as they traveled and performed throughout the Midwest. He has also worked as a guest clinician and adjudicator throughout the region.

Most recently, since retirement, he has worked assisting area choral directors, most especially working with boys with developing/changing voices, and as part of the directing team for Discovery Charter School's last two musical productions.
