Steve Scott

Producing Artistic Director

Steve Scott is currently the Artistic Director of the Dunes Arts Foundation in Michiana Shores, Indiana, where he has directed such past Dunes Summer Theatre productions as She Loves Me, The Bridges of Madison County, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, and Next to Normal. For over thirty years Mr. Scott was Producer at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, where he oversaw well over 200 productions; he is now an Artistic Associate at the Goodman, as well as a member of the Board of Trustees. Over the past fifty years Mr. Scott has directed more than 300 productions for theaters across the United States and internationally, including shows at such Chicago theaters as the Goodman, Northlight, Porchlight, Red Orchid, Shattered Globe, Eclipse, Redtwist, and the

Lyric Opera Center for American Artists; most recently, he served as stage director of Stravinsky’s The History of a Soldier at Chicago Symphony Orchestra; Gary, A Sequel to Titus Andronicus at Redtwist; Company at the Skokie Theatre; Native Gardens at the Buffalo Theatre Ensemble; and Second Glance (which premiered at the Dunes’ New Plays Festival) at the Holdcraft Center. For more than twenty years he was a member of the faculty at the Theatre Conservatory in

the College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University; he has also taught at Columbia College Chicago, Northwestern University, and the Theatre School at DePaul University among others. He has received seven Joseph Jefferson Award nominations, an After Dark award, Eclipse Theatre’s Corona Award, the Illinois Theatre Association’s Award of Honor, a special Jefferson Award for career achievement, and the League of Chicago Theatre’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
